Are you arranging opportunities for the student to practice the targeted skill (i.e. recording events in a schedule, referencing that schedule across the day, using the information in that schedule to initiate preparation activities) in natural environments and under natural conditions?
Have you adapted visual supports so that they can remain in the natural environments that this student encounters now, and in the future?
Have you arranged visual supports that can be easily carried over to the home and community settings where such tools are also vital? All successful visual supports such as schedules, checklists, graphic organizers, and social narratives should be shared with the family and any other support staff so the same formats can be used across all situations.
Are you collecting data to make adjustments to your teaching and to ensure that the student is arriving on time across multiple conditions?
