Can giving compliments and praise be appropriately depicted in a video model?
While it might be necessary to first depict the delivery of a compliment in isolation, consider that in most cases, it will be important to depict the context around that behavior as well (e.g. when is the compliment delivered- at what point within the interaction?) Depending on the student, consider how you might develop a variety of videos to depict the delivery of a compliment at different points within an interaction. One video might depict the delivery of a compliment that initiates an interaction between two people. Another video might depict the delivery of a compliment within an ongoing conversation.
Have you task analyzed this skill to ensure that your video clearly depicts every key step that comprises the skill?
Who will you use as “actors” in this video – will the targeted student be included in the video?
Will you shoot this video from the perspective of the student (first person) or from the third person perspective?
Will you narrate the video?
How will you ensure that the student experiences opportunities to not only review giving compliments via the video model, but to also engage in repeated rehearsal of doing this skill across multiple contexts?
