Can this skill be appropriately depicted in a video model?
Here is one example of a video model that depicts the appropriate response to an interruption, and several video models that depict the appropriate way to respond to questions:
Here is an example of a social interruption. Matt’s co-worker asks him if he has seen a certain movie. They chat briefly about the movie, and then they get back to work.

This is the right way to respond when someone asks you a question at work. He looks towards his co-worker, and answers him right away. He uses a friendly tone of voice.
|
This is the right way to respond when you don’t know the answer to someone’s question. He looks towards his co-worker and responds right away. He says, "I don’t know, I’m sorry." This shows that he is friendly and polite.
|
This is the right way to respond when you need more time to think about a question. He looks towards his co–worker, and politely tells her that he needs more time.

Have you task analyzed this skill to ensure that your video clearly depicts every key step that comprises the skill?
Who will you use as “actors” in this video – will the targeted student be included in the video? Will you shoot this video from the perspective of the student (first person) or from the third person perspective?
Will you narrate the video?
How will you ensure that the student experiences opportunities to not only review the skill via the video model, but to also engage in repeated rehearsal of the skill across multiple contexts? Will the student be able to review the video just prior to expected performance of that skill (priming)?
