What visual instructions or reminder cues should be present in each space to support sequenced and organized performance?
As you replace your prompts with visual supports, many of the tools you develop will be usable as visual cues. A sample resume used as the initial model, for example, may be kept in a “resume/cover letter” folder with blank templates and other visuals specific to related tasks
Other visual cues and graphic organizers may be necessary to support the student in providing information that is detailed and relevant. For example, as the student develops the work/volunteer history section of a resume, consider using a visual cue that helps him to differentiate between descriptions of duties that are specific and clear, versus those that are vague:
Reminder cards such as this example below could allow the student to perform one last check on the key components of their resume:
How can I organize the materials (or help the student organize) to support independent performance? Where do materials go when they are finished?
Where should the student store an electronic version of his resume? What should that document be called? Will it be housed in a sub-folder? Should he also email the resume to himself, so it is preserved in cyberspace?
In my design of each visual support, have I considered whether the student may need visual clarity cues (added to the to-do list, graphic organizer, or social narrative) to highlight (label) or emphasize key features or concepts?
In order to align this intervention topic area with the unique needs of the student, do you need to create visual instructions and reminder cues in the View2do program?
