Visual Cues:

What visual instructions or reminder cues should be accessible to support performance of this social communication skill?

Visual instructions can be very helpful in teaching the social rules about ending a conversation appropriately:

Cue cards could emphasize specific clues to look for that might signal that it is time to end the conversation:

Consider the use of simple cue cards that might support role-play sessions.  Should you use a visual signal to indicate to the “actors” when the role-play needs to stop, or when they need to “wrap it up”?

You might use a chart that serves as a reminder cue to give the student some options on what to say when he needs to conclude a conversation:

In my design of each visual support, have I considered whether the student may need visual clarity cues (added to the environmental design, communication script or scenario, schedule, to-do list, graphic organizer, social narrative, and/or video model) to highlight (label) or emphasize key features or concepts?

In order to align this intervention topic area with the unique needs of the student, do you need to create visual instructions and reminder cues in the View2do program?
