Congratulations! You got the job! You will receive a job offer by phone, email, or in person. When you receive a job offer, be sure to thank the person for offering you the job.
It is also important for you to make sure you know the following things before you start your job:
- The starting rate or salary
- The start date
- What time you should arrive on the first day
- What time you will leave work on the first day
- Your work schedule (days and times)
- Where to go on the first day of work
- Information about benefits, if any
If you know you want the job, accept it. It is more than fine to accept the job offer as soon as you receive it. In fact, this happens quite often. Be sure to say "thank you".
It is also okay to ask for time to think about whether or not you will accept the job. Ask the person when they need to have an answer by. In most cases, you will only have 1-2 days to make your decision. Try to sound excited about the job offer so that the person thinks you are interested. Be sure to say "thank you". |
