Completing Work on Time - Why is it Important?

relaxed personIt is important to do your work in a timely manner because your employer is counting on you.  When you meet your deadlines, here’s what usually happens:

  • You feel less stress and anxiety - you feel relief!
  • You feel a sense of accomplishment - you did it!
  • You will make your customers, boss, and co-workers more satisfied with your performance.
  • You are more likely to receive good evaluations from your boss and/or customers.

If you finish your work later than the deadline, you may put others (including your employer) in a bad position.  For example, if you are a teacher and you do not submit your grades to the office in time, your students would not receive their report cards in time.  This would make both you and the school look badly, and many students and their parents would be angry.
