When you go to work, you will probably have to follow a work schedule. Most employers have a plan for what tasks need to be done. You are being paid to follow this plan and to complete the assigned tasks. Your work schedule might include these things:

For example, if you work on a computer, the internet can serve as a major distraction! Social conversations with co-workers’ can also be a distraction. There are many distractions at work and in life in general. It is important to remind yourself that you are at work to do your job. You are getting paid to complete tasks, not just to show up and be in the work place. It is important to do your assigned work during your work periods and do leisure activities during break times. Here are examples of leisure activities that you should not do when you are supposed to be working:
Making personal phone calls, emails, or texts Surfing the internet Online social networking Playing computer games Reading for pleasure Napping Long social conversations with co-workers (it is okay to chat for a few minutes) |
