Personal Appearance

Overview

In most societies, image does matter.  What is a person’s image?  A person’s image is usually defined by how they look and how they dress.  Whether it is fair or not, we all make judgments about people based on how they look sometimes.   When an applicant comes in to interview for a job, they make an immediate impression on the company before they even say a word!   This impression can be good or bad.

Some aspects of your appearance are out of your control.  For instance, you cannot control whether you are a 6' 2" supermodel or not.  However, there are many things you can control.  These include your clothing, hair, teeth, body odor, and nails.  If you want to get a job and keep a job, you need to spend time on your appearance.  This means looking in the mirror to ensure that you look your best.
